I started this post early this morning and then was interrupted by life. Now life is napping, so I am finally able to finish it! We are being blessed with some very fall-like weather right now (read: mid 80s, low humidity, gentle breeze). We spent quite a bit of time with the windows open and outdoors this morning. I plan to return there this afternoon. Loving it!
When does fall begin for you? I long for it beginning in August, but alas, we don’t see hints of it here until at least mid-October usually. October 1 I put up fall decorations.
What is your favorite aspect of fall? I love so many things about my favorite season: the changing leaves, the crisp air, the shorter days. And I really love the return to routine after the summer.
What is your favorite fall memory? Our anniversary trip to New England four years ago. It was beautiful, and I was with my favorite person and newly pregnant with Olivia. (yes, I am purposefully blocking the memories of horrible morning sickness)
What do you like to drink in the fall? Coffee. I drink it much more often as the weather cools.
What’s your favorite fall food? The Thanksgiving menu at mom’s house. And stews and chili.
What is fall weather like where you live? Still too warm many days, but drier. The mornings and evenings, though, have a cool nip to them that you can almost smell.
What color is fall? Orange, yellow, red, brown, burgundy
What does fall smell like? Pumpkin spice.
Holiday shopping in fall: yes or no? I really should be that organized! I try to get it done online by Thanksgiving week.
If you could go anywhere in the fall, where would you go? Massachusetts
What is your favorite fall sport? FOOTBALL!
Do you have a favorite fall chore? I can’t think of any specific fall chores other than buying mums and decorating the porch for autumn.
What is your least favorite thing about fall? It’s too short and often takes too long to cool off.
What is your favorite fall holiday? Thanksgiving Day.
What’s your favorite kind of pie? Pecan
What was your favorite Halloween costume? I can’t remember being anything other than a hobo clown for Halloween! I know I had to have been something else some of the time.
What was your favorite Halloween candy? Smarties.
What was your least favorite Halloween candy? Candy Corn.
Which do you prefer, the Farm or the Fair? The Farm.
Do you have a favorite fall book? Thanks for Thanksgiving. We discovered this one last year, and it is simply wonderful.
